DIY self-tanner – coffee, tea and cocoa

What’s the point of spending money on drugstore self-tanners which contain a lot of chemicals and artificial substances? Using DIY self-tanners is a far better way of keeping beautiful tan. You only need coffee, tea and cocoa. Check how it is prepared.

If you want to enjoy a nice tan throughout the year or you can’t expose your skin directly to sunbeams, you should make your own self-tanner. In this way, you will avoid discolouration and sunburns and even prevent wrinkles. Go for home made bronzing products. They work similarly to drugstore products and the effect of suntan lasts up to several days. However, DIY self-tanners contain exlusively natural ingredients. Remember that such products have to be applied every day. DIY bronzing products leave no streaks or spots, they are cheaper and safer. Cocoa, tea and coffee are natural bronzers. We may enrich them with cinnamon, nutmeg and cosmetic oils. We pour the mixture into a clean atomiser bottle and then apply it to skin. To enhance the effect, before the application cleanse the skin thoroughly and do a body scrub. But how are self-tanners made?

Self-tanning bars

You need: two spoons of beeswax, two spoons of shea butter, two spoons of coconut oil, one teaspoon of cocoa, half teaspoon of ground nutmeg, one teaspoon of cinnamon. Use water bath to mix beeswax, shea butter and coconut oil and let it cool off. Add all the seasonings and mix well. Pour the whole mixture into a silicon pastry case and leave until it solidifies. Feel free to choose the shape and size of pastry cases.

Bronzing oil

Prepare: liquid coconut oil, one teaspoon of cocoa, ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg, one teaspoon of cinnamon. How to make the oil? Take a big bottle with an atomiser which is easy to use. Pour the coconut oil into the bottle and add other ingredients. Shake the bottle well so that the oil and seasoning can combine. Apply the self-tanner to your skin after a shower or bath every day. Not only will it give brown shade but also moisturize and restore the skin.

Spray self-tanner

To make this type of cosmetic you need: water, black tea, coffee and almond oil. Pour coffee, water and almond oil into an atomiser bottle. Shake the bottle before applying the self-tanner to skin. Pour water and black tea into the other bottle. Spray the mixture onto the skin and rub it in circular movements.
