Sleepless nights, stress, inappropriate care… The skin around the eyes is very delicate and feels very acutely whether we take care of it (or not). As a result, you can easily notice under eye circles, swelling and wrinkles becoming more visible. So how do we fight with the signs of fatigue?
Eye skin care should start from removing your make-up thoroughly. Eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara must be carefully removed. If you leave a little bit of make-up at night, in the morning you might wake up with irritated and burning eyes. Be sure to use cosmetics especially designed to meet the needs of your skin. A good solution will be a biphasic make-up remover, lotion or micellar water. Do not rub the skin around the eyes too much – this way you could damage the epidermis and weaken your eyelashes and eyebrows. Just lightly press a cotton pad, moistened with the make-up remover intended for eyes, and wait a while until the eye shadows, mascara and eyeliner dissolve.
Did you know that the foundation, false eyelashes and fixing sprays can cause irritation of the skin around the eyes? If you plan to spend all day at home, avoid putting any make-up on – after all, this is not mandatory. As much as it is possible, try to avoid make-up also in summer time. During warm days allow the skin to “catch” a little sunshine and let it turn into olive or brown shade of tan. It is worth remembering that by taking sunbaths, you provide your body with vitamin D. It is a great opportunity to give the skin a while to rest from cosmetics. During summer, make sure to regularly hydrate and use adequate protection from the harmful sunlight. Use light moisturising cream and sunscreen products. By using such cosmetics, you will certainly avoid any discolouration and wrinkles.
The best way to mask any dark under eye circles is to use concealers. Every drugstore offers a wide selection of different kinds of concealers to cover up any imperfections. You can also use correctors in bright colours, which are designed to be used only on spots. How to get rid of the puffiness under your eyes? There are plenty of ways, ranging from ice cubes through herbal infusions and creams with metal massagers. Before you proceed with the whole process of putting your eye make-up on, you must prep your skin. Firstly, apply a thin layer of cream reducing puffiness on the skin beneath the lower eyelids and let the skin absorb is for a few minutes. Then, apply a cosmetic that will camouflage any imperfections around the eyes and finish the rest of your make-up.
If your face shows that you are passed another sleepless night, every make-up artist use a simple trick. On the eyelid, apply pearl shade and avoid dark colours, especially if you like to wing your eyeliner. In such situation go with bright, pastel colours and warm tones. In order to give your look some freshness apply a light eye shadow in the inner corner of the eye and use a nude pencil on your water line. Brightening the waterline is the best trick to make your eyes look a bit more rested. When it comes to your eyebrows, try not to go too heavy as well. Brighten the area under your brows and gently fill them in if needed. Use your favourite mascara for your eyelashes. This will open up your eyes. Keep in mind that you cannot allow any clumps of dried mascara, eye shadows should not fall on your cheeks, and other coloured cosmetics (foundation, powder and blush on the cheeks) must be matched with your skin tone.
